Hannah Seng
Hannah Seng is a Western North Carolina artist whose paintings explore the interplay of negative space, movement, and form. Inspired by the flora, fauna, and landscapes of the Blue Ridge Mountains, she translates her deep connection to nature into evocative works on canvas and panel.
Growing up and residing in Western NC, Hannah finds splendor at her doorstep. Her color choices are not strict representations of nature but instead heighten its richness as she experiences it in the studio. Through paint, she plays with color’s boundaries—awakening its essence to create serenity, tension, or an entire mood within a piece.
Her figure paintings, often featuring women—including self-portraits—delve into magical narratives, exploring identity and the relationship between women and the natural world.
