Rachel Elise was founded in 2008 by maker Rachel Elise Aughtry while she was earning her BFA in Fiber Art at the University of North Texas. Blending her academic background with a lifelong love of sewing, she began by selling a small collection of handmade bags at a neighborhood coffee shop. Since then, her brand has grown steadily—now carried by shops across the country.

Today, Rachel designs, prints, weaves, and sews each bag in her studio and retail space in the charming mountain town of Mars Hill, North Carolina. Her work is rooted in craftsmanship, pattern, and texture—each piece made with care, creativity, and a clear love for fiber art.
