Sacred Oak Pottery

Sacred Oak Pottery is the collaborative work of Bonnie and Jim Rash, a husband-and-wife team who turned their retirement into a creative journey. After decades in corporate careers—Bonnie in corporate communications and gallery ownership, Jim in sales management—the couple sought a fulfilling way to blend their talents. In 2022, they built their retirement home, nestled among towering oaks and native rhododendrons, with a year-round creek providing inspiration. They designed their home with enough space for a shared studio, where Bonnie immersed herself in clay while Jim explored drawing, painting, and writing poetry.

On a whim, Jim tried his hand at the pottery wheel and discovered an intuitive ability to center clay with ease. This sparked a new passion, leading the couple to merge their skills and create one-of-a-kind, handcrafted vessels. As the “wheelman” and studio director, Jim shapes each form, while Bonnie, with her eye for design and color, trims and glazes their work. Together, they craft an exquisite collection of functional pottery, from large serving bowls to plates and mugs.

Fired in an electric kiln and finished with food-safe glazes, each Sacred Oak Pottery piece is made for everyday use—oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe. Their work reflects a shared love of craftsmanship, nature, and the joy of working side by side.
